The team at Glover Law has analyzed years of Quota Lottery data, and closely follows entry trends and the annual odds of winning. Feel free to contact us for assistance with your entry forms. Any member of the public may enter the Lottery and win the right to apply for a quota license. This year, the Department of Business and Professional Regulation will accept entries from August 20 to October 4.
The entry fee is $100 per county, though entrants are limited to one per county. Individuals or businesses can submit entries for quota licenses; however, individuals can only be associated with one application per county. More than 10,000 people will enter the Lottery each year, however, winners are selected on a county by county basis. Some counties have better odds than others, and there are various strategies that can be employed.
Please note that Lottery winners must still qualify to hold an alcoholic beverage license. Glover Law is available to assess whether you qualify to hold a beverage license and to prepare the required state filings. In the event that one obtains a quota license by drawing, one must pay an annual license fee and a one-time "activation" fee. Once the fees have been paid, a licensee can opt to use the license for their business or to sell it to another party.
