Client Alert: Vaccine Passports Banned in Florida (Updated)

Update (8.11.2021): Under the new anti-vaccine passport statute, DOH is empowered to levy $5,000 fines per violation. Also, section 3 of the governor's executive order also appears to contemplate the revocation or non-renewal of state licenses and permits. Original (4.11.21): Governor Ron DeSantis announced today that he is banning the use of COVID-19 passports by government agencies and businesses in the Sunshine State. Business operators should note that the order contemplates that government agencies will or could require compliance with the order in order to obtain or maintain a license, permit, or any other state authorization needed to conduct business.
