Waiting for the Liquor License Lottery Results?
Update (5.15.19): The Division has announced that the results will be released on June 7, 2019.
Over the past several weeks, the firm has noticed increasing interest regarding when the 2018 public drawing for quota liquor licenses results will be announced. A lot is at stake - a license in the right county can be sold for over $500,000 or take an existing bar or restaurant to the next level.
I expect an announcement any day now. Click below to receive real-time email updates on the results. Continue reading after the break for more context on the process.
The Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco’s job has become increasingly difficult, as the number of available licenses and submitted entry forms has grown steadily over the past 5 years. While their process is time-tested, they have to ensure that there are no duplicates - no individual, entity, or officer of a corporate entity may appear on two entries within the same county. The state also has to weed out all deficient entries, including those that are missing signatures. While the team had maximized their efficiency, this is a naturally difficult process.
With that said, the previous Division Director issued a directive to expedite the process and the results will likely be announced in the next month or so. Please note that there will be public notice of the results announcement event in the Florida Administrative Register several weeks prior to the event.
The firm watches the Register closely, and will attend the event on behalf of its quota lottery clients. If you’d like to receive the lottery results electronically, submit your email above. The firm’s liquor license lottery resource is available at www.quotalottery.com.
